    Soil is a world made up of organisms, minerals and organic components that provide food for humans and animals through plant growth. Improper soil management and the loss of nutrients in the soil are recognized as one of the most critical problems at a global level for food security and sustainability all around the globe.

    World Soil Day is annually observed on December 5th every year to raise awareness of the importance of healthy soil and advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources. The World Soil Day 2022 theme is, "Soils: Where food begins".
