    Soil is a complex mix of organisms, minerals and organic components that support plant growth, providing food for humans and animals. Mismanagement and nutrient loss are among the biggest global challenges for food security and sustainability.

    Every year World Soil Day is observed on December 5th to increase awareness of the importance of healthy soil and advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources. The theme for World Soil Day (WSD) 2023 is "Soil and water, a source of life"
